The 2011-2012 school year will be a new adventure for us. We're about to embark on the homeschool journey. There are many reasons behind this move, most of which I'm sure I'll be blogging about in the near future. I'm unsure right now if to run a separate homeschool blog or to just keep the one together, with the homeschool posts in one easy spot for my dear readers. Most of all, I'll be sharing tips. What's helped me along the homeschool journey is hearing real stories from real people. The ideal is a nice goal to strive for, but it's nice to know that you're not alone on your journey towards the ideal.
Where to begin? Before our school year officially began, I did a lot of reading. I looked up resources online and tapped into social media to ask questions and read about different experiences. The amount of options and ideas that exist are endless and quite overwhelming. You must choose to do whatever works best for your family, regardless of what everyone else seems to be doing. This venture can get quite costly, yet there are creative ways to do many, many things that don't require heavy spending. The biggest thing is that you need to make a decision and stick with it. Once we decided to homeschool, we never wavered from it. We've also had encouragement along the way.
Making the choice.
